License Information

It is important that you do business with a licensed and insured mover. Ivy Moving & Storage is licensed by both the State of California and by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to move household goods intrastate and interstate. Our policies and procedures adhere to strict regulatory and professional standards. To be sure that you are dealing with a reputable and appropriately licensed moving company, check for all 3 of the following licensing numbers: PUC, DOT, and ICC MC. The bottom of every page of out website includes all 3 licensing information for Ivy Moving & Storage. If a moving company does not have all 3 numbers, they may not be licensed to handle your move or they may not have adequate insurance.

Insurance

At Ivy Moving & Storage, we understand that your belongings represent your life, not just a list of inventory items. That’s why our movers take such great care when moving your belongings. Making sure your moving company is licensed and has adequate insurance to cover damages and losses is key in protecting yourself and your hard-earned assets.

Ivy Moving & Storage offers Basic Insurance and Replacement/Cash Value insurance. All licensed moving companies are required to provide Basic Insurance which covers losses and damages in the amount of $0.60 per lb. per article.

Ivy Moving & Storage also offers Replacement Insurance through Baker International, the leading provider of insurance in the moving industry. Some moving companies offer insurance through their own company, but as with car insurance and any other kind of insurance, the rating of the company providing you with insurance is key in making sure you are protected. For the same reason you would not purchase auto insurance from the person selling the car, consumers should be wary of a moving company offering to provide replacement insurance themselves. Baker International is one of the highest rated household insurance carriers in the country, and Ivy Moving’s excellent track record of low claims & damages is the reason why we are able to offer you the best moving insurance available.
