Packing food products

We do not recommend packing any food items that require refrigeration or any unsealed liquid items. If you move locally, use food coolers to pack any refrigerated products and, if possible, move them in your own vehicle. Food products should be one of the last things to be moved so you can quickly place them in the refrigerator or cabinets when you arrive at your new destination.

You should only pack canned or dried food in boxes and make sure to use a small box to prevent collapsing or denting during transit. If you decide to pack and move open products, pack them in a plastic bags or small plastic containers before placing them in a box. Try to bring only the food that you can move yourself.

Packing your mattress and box spring

Packing a mattress and box spring is a fast and easy process if you purchase mattress covers from a moving supply company. Mattress covers are manufactured to fit any standard bed from single to California King and protect your bedding from dirt and damage.

Stand your mattress and box spring upright and apply the mattress cover, then tape the open ends to make sure that your cover stays closed in transit. Mattress covers protect from, dirt, moisture, and unpleasant odors. For interstate moving or storage we would also recommend purchasing a mattress box from your supply company. Again, mattress boxes are available in all standard sizes and provide an extra level of protection for long moves or extended storage.
